This piece is called "The Power Of Darkness." I chose this name because instead of the common white blank paper, I was to use black paper, in turn using the power of darkness to make this happen. I wish I could have used a better pencil to really bring out highlights in the piece. Overall, with the clouds and mountains as well as the horizon line, it really brought the piece together.
This is my poster I've made to address a problem I see in the world. I focused on the problem of a common goal. We as a world are fighting too much within and our biggest problem is moving forward to persevere our race and planet. An African proverb reads, "if there is no enemy within, then the enemy outside can do us no harm." We alone as a nation have so much enemies within that we could be obliterated if the correct force came upon us. This is a message to seek the common goal we often had in times of crisis, because now is a time of crisis. This isn't about world peace but to come together as a world and accept the differences and move forward regardless. I like the message I displayed though the pencil under the colored pencil is something I would have liked to have not happen.
